About Backroads Hallelujah

Words Before the Music

For years the songs came before there was ever a way to sing them. Lyrics on the back of work paper, notes in a phone, verses that showed up on long drives and quiet mornings. I wrote them down even though I couldn’t sing a note or play a single chord. I just knew they were worth keeping.

So they stacked up, page after page, with no audience and no plan, only a quiet hope that someday they might be more than ink on paper. Backroads Hallelujah is that someday: hallelujahs from broken places, set to a melody at last.

The heart behind every song is real. These songs are shaped by roads I’ve traveled, people I’ve known, struggles I’ve witnessed, and faith that’s carried me through. Some stories are personal, others are inspired by the lives around me, but every one is rooted in something real. The voice may be new, but the stories have always been mine to tell.

A little more grace when I don’t deserve it; a little more light when the road gets hard.

Everything here starts and ends in one place. The rest grows from it.

God

The foundation. Every song is meant to point back to Him and lead people closer.

Family

The people you carry home to, and the reason the long roads are worth walking.

Country

From the backroads of America to every corner of the world. The small towns, the hard work, and the dirt these hallelujahs were written on.
